We’ve scheduled a guided two-mile nature walk of the art and grounds of the North Carolina Museum of Art (2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607) on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:30 AM followed by a luncheon at 12:15 PM.
The Museum Park features both permanent and temporary art installations, environmentally sustainable landscapes, colorful and contemporary gardens, 4.7 miles of recreational trails, and a terraced pond. The route has variations in surface and incline. Restrooms are available in the Welcome Center.
We will first have the tour which will begin at 10:30. Then we will go to lunch at the Museum Café in the East (new) building at 12:15.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for BOTH THE TOUR AND THE LUNCHEON.
The walking tour is free. (Our chapter will make a cash donation to the NCMA for the tour.) The NCMA can accommodate a large group for the walking tour, but we can only make group reservations for 12 people for the luncheon.
For the lunch in the Museum Café, preference will be given to current members of the Fulbright Association and current FB students and scholars. If we have room for guests, we will notify those who request that. Or guests can make their own reservations at the Museum Café in the East building, or purchase lunch at the casual eatery located on the bottom floor of the West building. The lunch will be subsidized by the Fulbright Association. You can select from the menu for your meal. The summer menu has not yet been released, but there will be a variety of dishes.
You can register for BOTH the tour and the luncheon, or just select one. See the following for registering and payment information:
- Prices for the luncheon: The usual price for the luncheon at the Museum Café is $30 including tip. Fulbright Association members and visiting scholars will pay $10 for lunch, with Fulbright Association paying $20. Non-Fulbright Association members and guests will pay $15 for lunch, with Fulbright Association paying $15 for lunch.
- We must have your reservation and payment by Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 5:00 pm. Make out the check to the NC Fulbright Association. Or pay by Venmo (@sprakal). Although we will maintain a waiting list in case of cancellations, after our deadline it may not be possible to reserve additional spaces.
