UNC Global Affairs celebrates 250 years of American diplomacy, and the fifth anniversary of the Diplomacy Initiative, during Diplomacy Week 2026.
You’re invited to be part of the celebration!
The U.S. Department of State Exchange Alumni Fellow for the Southeast, Ryan Greenstein, UNC Global Affairs, and the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training invite all U.S. Citizen Exchange Alumni in North Carolina to attend two events on Monday, September 28.
Meet fellow U.S. exchange alumni and former diplomats from 10–11 a.m. in the DeBerry Board Room (3009) of the FedEx Global Education Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Celebrate 250 years of American diplomacy at the opening reception for Diplomacy Week 2026 from 5–7 p.m. in the Florence and James Peacock Atrium of the FedEx Global Education Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There will be food and drinks, as well as opportunities to learn about North Carolina’s contributions to American diplomacy, hear from U.S. Ambassador (ret.) Robert Pearson and retired Foreign Service Officer Tom Selinger, and Vice Provost for Global Affairs and Chief Global Officer Barbara Stephenson.
