A message from the Fulbright Association national office:

In addition to promoting mutual understanding through international exchange, the Fulbright Program drives economic growth and opportunity. It does so through:

  • Maximizing Taxpayer Investment—100 partner governments contribute over $100 million annually to the Fulbright Program, making it one of the most cost-effective initiatives of its kind.
  • Boosting the U.S. Economy—International participants drawn to Fulbright contributed $43.8 billion to the U.S. economy in 2023-24, supporting businesses and innovation.
  • Providing State-Level Benefits—Fulbright alumni live and work in every U.S. state, contributing through research, industry, and public service.

As such, the Fulbright Association aims to protect and sustain the Fulbright Program in FY2026 through the #StandForFulbright advocacy campaign.

For decades, the U.S. Congress has championed the Fulbright Program as a proven, cost-effective, adaptable, and influential tool for advancing U.S. interests worldwide. Fulbright is the flagship program in a suite of international exchange initiatives administered by the Department of States and its Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

We urge you to join us in protecting and sustaining these vital programs, which deliver a strong return on investment year after year. We ask for Congress’s bipartisan leadership in supporting America’s safety, strength, and prosperity through international exchange.
