The Fulbright Alumni Network is a strategic asset for U.S. national security and global leadership. Founded in 1977 under guidance of Senator J. William Fulbright, the Fulbright Association is the official U.S. alumni network that serves a community of 131,000+ U.S. Fulbrighters. With 54 chapters in 38 states, we mobilize thousands of alumni and partners to protect and promote the Fulbright Program’s legacy. Fulbright alumni live and work in all 50 states, contributing to innovation, public service, and global leadership.
- Fulbright alumni are educators, business leaders, scientists, and public servants making a difference.
- Fulbright is for all Americans; it gives every U.S. citizen the extraordinary opportunity to live, learn, and serve overseas as educational and cultural ambassadors.
- Fulbright sends U.S. professionals abroad and brings international talent to the U.S., building lifelong partnerships that enhance American competitiveness and diplomacy.
- The Fulbright Program operates through 49 unique binational Fulbright commissions and 116 U.S. embassies, creating enduring partnerships that align with U.S. foreign policy goals.
