The Fulbright Program expands global leadership by fostering knowledge, diplomacy, and international cooperation.

As knowledge leaders, 82 Fulbrighters have been named MacArthur Fellows, 62 Fulbrighters have been awarded the Nobel Prize, and 90 Fulbrighters have received the Pulitzer Prize. See the full list at https://www.fulbrightprogram.org/awards/.

Yet, FY25 funding awarded by the U.S. Congress for the Fulbright Program and the Fulbright Association that was frozen in February has not yet been fully restored. Only approximately 85% of the outstanding Department of State payments for the Fulbright Program that were previously withheld due to the funding freeze have been restored, and funding for Fulbright Association (FA) has not yet been released.

Therefore, our advocacy efforts are far from over. We are focused on securing the remaining FY25 funds and looking ahead to FY26 funding. We’re also dedicated to ensuring that the Fulbright Program remains true to its original mission and values.

We urge you to join the Fulbright community and #StandforFulbright. The Fulbright Association is the unified voice of the Fulbright community, advocating for the program in the U.S. Congress. We take a strategic, non-partisan approach to advocacy at the local, national, and global levels.
