We’re excited to sponsor a private guided tour of Trolls: A Field Study, at The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC, preceded by lunch.
Details about the exhibit of 12 troll sculptures by Danish artist Thomas Dambo is featured on The North Carolina Arboretum website at https://www.ncarboretum.org/trolls-a-field-study/.
Following is our itinerary for Saturday, February 14, 2026:
12:30pm: Meet for lunch at White Labs Brewing Co., 172 S Charlotte St, Asheville, NC (payment on your own – our chapter may provide appetizers if funding available)
We will consolidate in cars to carpool to the Arboretum (there is a parking fee of $20/car at the Arboretum)
3pm: Guided tour at The North Carolina Arboretum, 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way, Asheville, NC 28806-9315
Some basic info about the tour:
- The tour generally takes an hour and a half
- It is a mile in distance
- Terrain is paved in the formal gardens, mulched and rocks along the wooded trails
Prices for the private guided tour (max 20 people):
- $5 for members of the Fulbright Association and current Fulbright students/scholars (past scholars can apply to be Fulbright Association members at https://fulbright.org/membership/ (those under age 26 in their first year after their grant get two years of free membership)
- $10 for guests
This tour is limited to the first 20 people who send in payment. A waitlist will also be kept and participants will be notified if spaces become available. There is unlimited space to just come join us for lunch – we just need a headcount to reserve seating.
