March 12, 2025, is the Fulbright Association’s Capitol Hill Advocacy Day! Members of our national organization are meeting with 85 Congressional offices in Washington, DC.
As of this date, the Department of State has not officially lifted the 15-day temporary pause on all international exchange program funding that was issued in February, effectively halting critical programs that enhance American safety, security, and prosperity.
This action jeopardizes the well-being and future of over 12,500 American students, youth, and professionals currently abroad or scheduled to participate in State Department programs in the next six months. Additionally, it cuts funding for U.S. programs hosting more than 7,400 international youth, students, and professionals.
In response, the Fulbright Association has launched the #StandforFulbright campaign. Our efforts will focus on demonstrating how international exchange, particularly through the Fulbright Program, strengthens America’s safety, prosperity, and global standing.
We urge you to join the Fulbright community and #StandforFulbright. The Fulbright Association is the unified voice of the Fulbright community, advocating for the program in the U.S. Congress. We take a strategic, non-partisan approach to advocacy at the local, national, and global levels.
